Our client is a very successful and growing family oriented, main-line, multi-location, farm machinery dealer located in Southwestern Ontario. They are currently accepting applications for a General Manager.

What you will do:
Plan, organize, lead and control the overall operation of the dealerships.
Ensure effective, efficient, safe and current business, marketing, customer relations, sales and service practices are utilized in the Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, and Administration Departments.
To maximize long term profitability ensuring the long term viability of the dealerships.
Monitoring performance and productivity of managerial employees on an ongoing basis.
Developing budgets for the dealerships with input from managers.
Developing promotions/advertising specials for the dealerships with input from managers.
Attending management and shareholder meetings.
Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
Setting dealership policies and procedures with manager input.
Ensuring insurance policies are current and sufficient.
Obtaining and monitoring bank loans.
Handling retail financing.
Providing guidance to managers and ensuring all managers carry out their duties accordingly.
Review financial reports for action such as: inventories including parts, inventory turnover, new and used equipment, whole goods, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial ratios, new and used equipment and parts sales.
Interviewing staff for hiring with dealership managers.
Setting yearly objectives for each dealership department and staff according to plans and input from managers.
Assisting and training less experienced staff and attending training schools, seminars and meetings.
Completing administrative paperwork.
Conducting yearly performance appraisals with managers.
Monitoring performance and productivity of employees on an ongoing basis with input from managers.
Approving staff for wage increments, promotions or discipline and dismissal with input from managers.
What you will need:
Strong managerial, financial, analysis and human relations skills developed from many years experience in managerial/supervisory positions in a business environment.
Formal training in business related topics, marketing and sales are desirable.
A background in farming, agribusiness and mechanical areas are essential.
Working knowledge of farm equipment.
A passion for helping farmers with their equipment needs.
