Managing the sales territory.
Assisting the Sales Manager in conducting customer profile surveys, demographic studies, maintaining and developing statistical records.
Calling on perspective customers and making cold calls.
Assisting in extrapolating data for area sales projections.
Assisting in maintaining customer data base.
Maintaining contacts with customers in relation to their requirements.
Informing customers of supply, price trends and upcoming Dealership promotions.
Informing customers of new innovations, products and services.
Closing sales with customers and seeing lots of people and asking all to buy.
Assisting in controlling new and used inventory and being aware of inventory levels.
Making company services known and available to customers.
Arranging delivery dates.
Referring complaints to the Complex Manager.
Checking on competitive activity.
Keeping records and reports of all activities.
Submitting paperwork, properly completed, to the appropriate Dealership department to expedite deliveries to customer.
Developing interpersonal, listening skills and ability to deal with difficult people.
Attending Dealership or community functions that will benefit the Dealership and build a rapport with customers.
Knowing used equipment values for evaluation and trading purposes.
Requesting new and used machines for demonstration and ensuring they are in "ready to go" condition.
Following up every demonstration and sale.
Carrying out field demonstrations.
Maintaining manuals, price lists and other documents in current condition.
Understanding factory finance, promotional programs and plans.
Suggesting additional or related attachments and accessories at the time of sale.
Dressing professionally.
Assisting in setting daily, weekly, monthly and yearly sales targets and goals.
Listening to customers for what new products and services should be provided.
Maintaining neat and up to date sales brochures and literature displays within the Dealership.
Planning and organizing equipment displays at trade shows, fairs and malls.
Working with Service Manager to evaluate all used equipment and trades, to determine value and extent of overhaul
Telephoning customers and prospects for appointments.
