Jersey Canada is a dynamic, growing, national breed association based in Guelph, Ontario. We are currently looking for an Interim General Manager to join our team for a one-year contract position. This individual is passionate about the Canadian dairy industry, has a minimum of five years’ experience in business management and financial oversight, and has excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
Requirements:
You are passionate about the Canadian dairy industry, and Jersey cattle in particular.
You are self-motivated, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and to prioritize.
You are a College or University graduate.
You have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in business and financial management.
You have experience working with a Board of Directors, and have demonstrated your ability to lead a team of employees.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
You have effective problem solving and mediation skills, and have the proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
You are proficient with Microsoft Office and you are skilled with social media and other web-based applications.
You are available for overnight and extended travel, and working on weekends when required.
Responsibilities:
Overall operational leadership for Jersey Canada’s employees, members and clients.
Coach and develop the team to effectively deliver results on Jerseys Canada’s strategic plan.
Assure compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations, including Jersey Canada’s Constitution and the Animal Pedigree Act.
Work with team members to ensure the establishment and maintenance of strong customer relationships with members, clients, and industry partners.
Work with Board of Directors by arranging meetings and agendas, attending meetings, and taking minutes when required.
Act as the lead for development of special projects, including research and analytics.
Travel to Jersey Canada business, including industry and Board meetings, domestic and international events with Board approval.
Oversee the annual budget, and monitor Jersey Canada financials and cash flows.
