Our client is a modern, family oriented Dairy Farm, located near Ayr, Ontario. They are growing and are now in search of an experienced and dedicated Milker to join their team for their afternoon/evening shift.
What you will do:
Prepare milking equipment and bulk tank for milking.
Bring in cows for milking or help other employees bring in cows if needed or requested.
Follow recommended pre-milking preparation of cattle before milking.
Milk all cows in an orderly, proper and consistent manner.
Note cows that may have mastitis or other problems and inform the manager for possible treatment. (No treatment will be done without permission of the manager.)
Clean the milking parlor, holding area and bulk tank room.
Operate all milking equipment as recommended by the manager and factory specifications.
After milking, be sure all machinery and sanitation procedures are followed according to manufacturer’s specifications.
Maintain treatment records and identify treated cows with appropriate markers.
What you will need:
A minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a Dairy Herdsperson or Milker.
Must have a valid Class G Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract
Experience milking and treating Dairy cattle
Above average attention to detail skills
Ability to self-manage and solve problems as they arise
Must be a team player
Compensation:
$20 - $22/h to start. This position will average 30 - 35h/ week.
