Position Title: Senior Production Worker (NOC 9617)
Hourly Wage: $16.00
Reporting Structure: Production Manager
Salary Range: $16.00 to $17.00
Position Summary:
The position of Senior Production Worker requires a motivated individual who has at least 1 years of experience in all aspects of high-volume commercial germination/ dehydration procedures and protocols, a working knowledge of food safety and is a team player with good English language communications skills.
Main Tasks and Job Responsibilities:
Growing cycles for germinated seeds, grains and pulses according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) protocols and timelines
Drying cycles for germinated seeds, gains and pulses according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) protocols and timelines
Take the lead on growing and drying cycles and keep team within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) protocols and timelines
Unloading contents of dryers into designated storage containers
Able to follow daily production schedule and assign tasks to junior team members
Receiving of raw materials for productions and packaging
Bulk weighing and packaging of finished product
Preparation of skids for orders
Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and utensils used in the growing and drying processes
Cleaning and sanitizing of growing rooms and dryers according to SOP’s
General cleaning and sanitization of production and receiving area
Proper labeling of containers and documentation for traceability
Maintenance of production and sanitation logs in an accurate, neat and timely fashion
Assist junior team members with record keeping, as required
Have sufficient knowledge to be able to work in both the growing and packing production room, as required
Ensure proper stock rotation according to First In First Out (FIFO)
Reporting of any malfunction issues with equipment
Job Requirements:
Secondary School Diploma
Minimum 1 year experience in the areas of high volume germination and low temperature dehydration of oil seeds, grains and pulses is mandatory
Able to lead a crew unsupervised in germination/dehydration cycles, with minimum input from management
Previous experience or understanding of GMPs. HACCP and ability to follow plant SOP/SSOP
Shipping and receiving experience (Fork Truck license an asset)
Physically fit, able to lift 50lbs. repeatedly, work in a fast-paced and hot environment
Good mathematical and written and oral English language skills
