Our client is a successful global manufacturer, distributor and value-added service provider to leading agricultural genetics providers, large national cattle associations, companion animal breed registries, university researchers, and commercial cattle producers. The focus in Canada is primarily selling to the dairy and beef cattle industries.
Position Overview:
Due to increasing demand for their products and services, they are currently seeking a Territory Manager for the Canadian (primarily Ontario and Quebec) territory, to promote and sell their Agri-genomics products and services. Compensation: A competitive compensation package, including a base salary plus commission, or a salary only option, benefits and pension, is negotiable based on experience and capacity.
What you will do:
Promote and sell Agri-genomics products and services within the Canadian market.
Communicate and maintain relationships with the existing customer base.
Develop sales plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share and profitability of the territory.
Grow or develop long-lasting business relationships with key customers and industry influences to support the company’s market position.
Call on elite customers and key prospects.
Travel within the territory and other areas as needed. Approximatly 25-35% of time spent on overnight travel.
Other duties as may be assigned.
What you will need:
Post-secondary education in animal science, agricultural business, or a related field, is preferred.
4+ years of successful sales experience is preferred
Experience and contacts on the cattle industry is preferred
Entrepreneurial drive and determination.
Excellent communication, relationship building, sales, and time-management skills
Ability to travel within the territory and other areas; overnight travel is required.
Own vehicle, with valid Canadian Driver’s License, is required for local travel. Ability to rent vehicles during overnight travel.
Experience using Microsoft Office, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, is required.
Bilingual language skills in French and English is preferred
