Due to increasing demand for their products, they are seeking a dedicated Territory Sales Manager who will be responsible for promoting sales of their products in Ontario and Quebec. Position Overview:
The successful candidate will promote sales of the company’s animal safety products in the animal protein market (primarily swine and poultry), directly or through distribution channels, within the assigned territory.
Compensation:
A competitive compensation package, including a base salary plus commission, benefits and pension, is negotiable based on experience and expertise.
What you will do:
Communicate with an existing customer base on a consistent basis to monitor customer satisfaction, resolve issues and concerns; and monitor the competitive position of the company’s products in the market.
Develop sales plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share and profitability of the territory.
Grow or Develop long-lasting business relationships with key customers and industry influences to support the company’s market position.
Collaborate with the communications department to develop and provide product marketing material and programs that are effective and profitable.
Work with the marketing on advertising departments, and perform promotional activities for product lines, to increase market share of target products.
Represent the company and analyze industry trade shows and meetings to promote products and services, increase market and competitive knowledge, and identify new products for distribution, OEM or development.
Reads industry publications to keep abreast of industry, customer and competitor news; shares articles of interest with the organization.
Participate in annual budgeting process. Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Participates in the resolution of customer billing or collection issues.
Keep management up-to-date on sales, market conditions and competitive situations. Make suggestions and proposals for ways to improve effectiveness.
Travel within the territory and other areas as needed. 50-60% of time spent on overnight travel.
Other duties as may be assigned.
What you will need:
Post-secondary education in animal science, agricultural business, or a related field, is preferred.
5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in the animal protein safety products industry.
Experience with animal food safety products in the swine and poultry industries is preferred.
Excellent communication, relationship building, sales, and time-management skills
Ability to travel within the territory and other areas; overnight travel is required. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Own vehicle, with valid Canadian Driver’s License, is required for local travel. Ability to rent vehicles during overnight travel.
Experience using Microsoft Office, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, is required.
Bilingual language skills in French and English is preferred
